The Blue Chapel: an invitation to introspection

The Palancar Reef (which is part of the Mesoamerican coral barrier), the second longest in the world) has an approximate length of 8 kilometers (almost 5 miles) For its extension, it has been divided theoretically into portions and a name has been assigned to each one of them. Specifically, I am in the portion called Palancar Bricks diving through the Blue Chapel. The Blue Chapel is a coral formation that has two main entrances: one by the west that is completely open and has a height of about 12 meters (40ft) by 7 (23ft) wide and other entrance by the south. This last one is narrow and winding. It is by this one where I invite you to join me to enter.

The architecture of this vault resembles a Gothic cathedral or another building intended for introspection.

Entering through the narrow side entrance leads the diver to meet the central nave, where it is immersed within a liberating spatiality: a spacious chamber, light inputs from the roof and walls and a small exit to the northeast.

Inside the camera (and if you are lucky enough to enter there alone or with one or two companions), the diver may feel for a moment that he connects with his own spirit.
